I am honestly beyond shocked and disappointed by how this situation was handled. During our stay, there was an attempted stabbing involving two children, and despite something that serious happening, the child responsible and their entire family were allowed to remain at the campground.
As a guest, that made me feel completely unsafe. I couldn’t believe that management thought it was acceptable to let them stay after such a violent incident. Families come here expecting a safe environment for their kids, and this decision sends the exact opposite message.

After visiting Sunset Campground for the past 15 years, I never imagined I would be writing a review like this. Unfortunately, the events that took place during our most recent stay, and more importantly the way they were handled by management, have left us with no intention of ever returning.
A very serious violent incident involving two minors occurred on the campground. Despite the severity of what happened, the child involved, along with their family, was permitted to remain on the property. As a long-time guest, I found that decision both surprising and deeply concerning.

Sunset campground is not safe for kids. A incident took place a few weeks ago where a kid pulled a knife on another kid and the rcmp were involved. Rcmp would not charge due to age, but the campground insisted the family would be removed ASAP. All a lie. The campground decided against it. Which caused a another family to leave. By the end of summer I hope more leave. I hope people think twice before taking kids there. Not safe
