The resort is great as a lodging, perhaps not as a resort. There's a limit on what you can get up to on the property.
However, the service was great. The lodge has a very casual and inviting atmosphere with plenty to do in the surrounding area. The staff was friendly and the beers were cold!
It would be great if they could update their security so each room has a passkey. I was not expecting to leave my room unlocked during my stay.
We recently stayed at Williston Lake Resort. The location itself is beautiful with very nice views, and the scenery around the resort is definitely the highlight of the stay.
However, our experience as a family was not positive. When we first parked to check in, there was a large dog barking and growling at us. Our five-year-old son was very scared and honestly traumatized by the experience. My husband went inside to let the staff know, but we were simply told, “It’s okay, he won’t bite,” and nothing was done. Our son remained frightened for the rest of the stay. God this place is out of the ordinary! Very friendly staff, everything is based solely on trust, you don't even have to lock your room when you're out. Very cozy and friendly. If you're in the area you should come check it out!
