Windsor Campground — Maidstone, Ontario

My best suggestion would be camp elsewhere... My family and I have been camping at various locations for a couple of years now and never have I felt the need to leave a review until now. I wasn't surprised when I came here to do so today and found that many people in the reviews felt the same way after staying at windsor campground. Our experience with the staff was terrible. It started part way into our visit when our A/C unit froze up, my husband then realized his tool box for the trailer was not brought with us (we live 4.5hrs away) rather then send him on his way to Canadian tire to purcha

We chose this campground because of its close location to the city, but during our stay I witnessed behavior that was completely unacceptable and very concerning. While out walking, I saw a campground “security” staff member pull up in a golf cart and begin aggressively yelling at a woman through her vehicle window about allegedly driving over the posted speed limit. Yes, the speed limit is clearly marked, and if she was driving too fast, that absolutely should have been addressed — but the way it was handled was entirely inappropriate. All the years I've lived in Windsor and I've never gone here until this past weekend. Love the whole atmosphere of being in the woods camping and this place delivers that exact feeling. There's a nice Lake nearby and swimming pool for the kids. Busy place, people seem nice. Better than being stuck in the city. Highly recommend checking this place out. Will be back.
