Sicamous, British Columbia
Mara Lake is a long, narrow lake in the Columbia-Shuswap region of interior British Columbia, flowing directly into the much larger Shuswap Lake at the town of Sicamous. The area is sometimes called the "Houseboat Capital of Canada" — Sicamous sits at the junction of the Shuswap and Mara Lake systems, giving boaters access to hundreds of kilometres of connected lake. The Trans-Canada Highway runs along the lake's west shore.
Summers here are warm and dry, with daytime temperatures often in the high 20s to low 30s°C through July and August. The lake is ideal for swimming, boating, paddleboarding, and waterskiing, and the beaches are crowded by mid-July. Shoulder seasons are cooler and quieter; winters are mild by Canadian standards with occasional snow.
Beyond the water, the region is orchard and farm country — blueberries, stone fruit, and small wineries dot the hills. The town of Sicamous has the essentials plus seasonal restaurants and marinas. Nearby Salmon Arm (to the west) and Revelstoke (east) offer larger-town services. Herald Provincial Park and Shuswap Lake Provincial Park are within an easy drive for day trips.

The pods have everything you need for a fantastic stay (comfortable beds, well equipped kitchenette, your own bathroom and outdoor shower). The covered patio and bbq was so great for re…”

“We loved our stay at this brand new campground. It is so well laid out with lots of space between sites. We loved the flush toilets that even had sinks and hand soap and the staff were super friendly. The full hook up including sewer meant we could really flush out our black tank. We loved it so much we are booked in again for our next trip back already.”

“Mara Lake RV Park is a lovely gem, the toilet facilities whilst small were spotless and warm and open! An absolute bonus. The office staff were very helpful and whilst at night the site is a little noisy due to local construction work, this did not spoil our stay. Thank you. Sue and Patrick Greenhalgh(UK)”
