Revelstoke, British Columbia
Revelstoke sits in the Columbia-Shuswap region of interior British Columbia, tucked into the Selkirk Mountains at the foot of Mount Revelstoke National Park. The Trans-Canada Highway runs straight through town, making Revelstoke a natural stopover roughly midway between Kamloops and Banff, with the Columbia River threading the valley below.
The region is famously mountainous. Summers are short and warm, with long daylight for hiking the Meadows-in-the-Sky Parkway, biking the valley trails, and paddling the Columbia River. Winters bring heavy snowfall and one of the deepest snowpacks in Canada, drawing skiers to Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Spring and fall are shoulder seasons with cooler temperatures and quieter roads.
Beyond the national park, the area is rich in provincial parks, natural hot springs (Halcyon, Nakusp, and Canyon Hot Springs nearby), old-growth cedar groves, and waterfalls. Highway 23 south follows the Arrow Lakes toward Nakusp and the Kootenays; Highway 1 east climbs Rogers Pass through Glacier National Park.

“We spent 2 nights there The host's were awesome They were very welcoming and helpful. Yeah you hear the traffic and train but you find that at most camps. You get use to it. Clean facilities (toilets, laundry) Love seeing the squirrels Lots of things to see if you have time I would definitely go back there”

“Relaxing place to stay but good engagement for kids. Has a pool but was a bit cold for us. Great 2 for 1 snow cone specials at happy hour . In the evening showed kid friendly movies by the main office with popcorn for purchase. My kids really loved the movie option. Our site was shaded and relaxing. Nice clean bathrooms and showers. There is laundry onsite but we did not use…”

“Very well laid out site amongst the trees. Nice size plots for RV's. Staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities are good (sauna not & pool not working when we were there). Cabins and other camping facilities available, so in peak season will be very busy. Wood for fire pit $12 each or 2 for $20. Wifi good. Close to Mount Revelstoke NP, good walks. Would recommend.”
