All Northern Stay memberships come with a 14-day refund (conditions apply) window from the date of purchase. Contact us within that window and a refund is processed to your original payment method. No processing fees, no "administrative costs." If you haven’t used any nights, you receive the full amount back. If you’ve completed stays, those nights are deducted at the public nightly rate — which is still a fair outcome.

How to request your refund

Contact Northern Stay within 14 days
Email admin@northernstay.com or call 1-226-667-8437. The 14-day window starts from the date you purchased your membership. Include your order number and membership ID.

Include your purchase details
Include your order number and membership ID in your email. Use "Refund Request" in the subject line. If you have completed any stays, those nights will be deducted from the refund at the public nightly rate. Once you have completed 3 or more stays, no refund will be issued regardless of timing.

Refund is processed
Refunds typically return to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider. Northern Stay initiates the refund on their end immediately — the timeline from there depends on your financial institution.

"Hi, I purchased a Northern Stay [Getaway Pass / Lifestyle Membership] on [date] under [your email]. I'd like to request a full refund within the 14-day window. Please confirm when processed. Thank you."

Refund policy — Getaway Pass vs Lifestyle

Getaway Pass · $999/season

Getaway Pass

Within 14 days (and fewer than 3 completed stays): Refund issued on the $999 minus the public nightly rate for any nights already stayed. Contact admin@northernstay.com with your order number to initiate.

After 14 days (or 3 stays): The pass is non-refundable. Your remaining nights are still available to use through the end of the season.

Non-transferable: Seasonal Getaway Pass memberships cannot be transferred or resold to another person.

Renewal: The Getaway Pass does not auto-renew. You decide each season whether to renew.

Lifestyle Membership · $4,999 + $79/mo

Lifestyle Membership

Within 14 days (and fewer than 3 stays): Refund on the $4,999 upfront payment, less the public nightly rate for any nights already stayed. Monthly charges initiated during that period are also refunded.

After 14 days: The Lifestyle Membership can be transferred once through Northern Stay's internal marketplace, with their approval and a $99 admin fee. It cannot be privately resold without Northern Stay's written consent.

Monthly component: The $79/month maintenance fee is charged year-round (12 months/year) regardless of whether you're actively camping. Contact admin@northernstay.com to discuss your specific situation.

Lifestyle Membership — transfer instead of cancel

The Lifestyle Membership can be transferred once. If your circumstances change — you're moving, you camp less, life happens — you're not permanently stuck. The membership can be resold through Northern Stay's internal marketplace, subject to their approval.

What transfers
The full Lifestyle Membership — all access rights, advance booking priority, and seasonal access (up to 180 days, May 1–Oct 31). The new holder assumes all ongoing financial obligations including the $79/month maintenance fee.
How to transfer
Transfer goes through Northern Stay's internal Member Marketplace — you cannot sell it privately without their written consent. Contact admin@northernstay.com to begin the process. Northern Stay verifies the new buyer before finalizing.
Transfer fee & limits
$99 CAD one-time admin fee (non-refundable). The membership can only be transferred once. Your account must be in good standing and your full payment obligation satisfied or transferred to the new holder.

Refund & cancellation FAQ

What if I joined more than 14 days ago but haven't used the membership yet?
The 14-day refund window is from the date of purchase, not the date of first use. If you're outside the 14-day window, the standard terms apply. For the Getaway Pass, the 30 nights remain available to use through the end of the season. For the Lifestyle Membership, the transfer option gives you a path to recoup value. Contact admin@northernstay.com to discuss your specific situation — the team can sometimes work with members on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances.
I used some nights — does that affect my refund eligibility within 14 days?
Yes, but only partially. Within the 14-day window (and fewer than 3 completed stays), you are eligible for a refund — however, any nights already stayed are deducted at the public nightly rate before the refund is issued. So you'll receive the membership price minus the cost of nights used. Contact admin@northernstay.com within 14 days with your order number and the number of nights completed.
Does Northern Stay auto-renew without asking?
The Getaway Pass does not auto-renew. You will not be charged a new season's fee without your explicit action. The Lifestyle Membership includes a $79/month component that continues as part of the ongoing access structure — this is disclosed at the time of purchase. If you have questions about any billing on your account, contact admin@northernstay.com directly.
How long does the refund take to arrive?
Northern Stay processes refunds to the original payment method. The time from Northern Stay's processing to your account depends on your card or bank — typically 5–10 business days. If you haven't seen it after 10 business days, email admin@northernstay.com with your refund confirmation and they can follow up with the payment processor.
What if I can't reach anyone?
Northern Stay is reachable at admin@northernstay.com and 1-226-667-8437. If you're having trouble reaching the team and are within your refund window, send an email immediately (to timestamp your request within the 14-day window) and follow up by phone. As a Canadian company, Northern Stay is also subject to Canadian consumer protection laws — if you have a genuine dispute that isn't being resolved, the appropriate regulatory bodies are available as a last resort, though Northern Stay's team aims to resolve these directly.
